Say It to My Face
Digital communication changes how we speak, how quickly we react, and how easily our intent can be misunderstood. Digital Distance examines what happens when technology gets between people—and what professionalism and accountability look like on the other side of the screen.
The training
Practical judgment. Real consequences.
Digital communication removes many of the cues we rely on face-to-face: tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, and immediate feedback.
Digital Distance helps participants recognize how that distance affects judgment, interpretation, conflict, and accountability—and decide when to send the message, rewrite it, change the medium, or not send it at all.
This is practical training for real digital communication problems.
A closer look
How physical separation changes what we’re willing to say.
You control what you send. You don’t control how someone receives it.
Free expression doesn’t eliminate professional, organizational, or personal consequences.
When you don’t provide the tone, the reader supplies it. Intent doesn’t travel with the message.
When you’re communicating about the communication, change the medium.
Technology changes how we communicate. It doesn’t change our responsibility for the communication.
“If you're writing paragraph six explaining what you meant in paragraph four, you're no longer solving the problem. You're writing evidence.”
The Face-to-Face Test
“Would you say this, this way, if the person were standing directly in front of you?”
